You probably have already noticed that there is an abundance of information out there on the Internet that has been based on opinion and not physical fact. The Internet is all about information overload and it is hard to distinguish what is true and what is not. I too, have become annoyed with different sources of information that contradicts another. I have pulled together as much information about the subject as I could to learn to modify my own guitars. Much of the information within was put together long before this web site was conceived.
If you are like me you have made the quest for ultimate guitar tone your passion.
You could literally spend a lifetime tinkering with all of the countless options. My
education and background gave me the skills to work with the electronics of the guitar
for the benefit of making it sound better, and to be more versatile. As complicated
as some information can get I still like to explain it in a way that everyone can
understand. Whether you are advanced in the subject, new and are just trying to figure
things out, you will find this information useful for your own guitar projects.
You
can learn how to turn an ordinary electric guitar into a extraordinary guitar, customized
to multiple styles of playing, and overall sound improvement. There are three different
guitars to view on this site, so far. You can either observe a complete custom build,
or view two different modifications. All three links are to the right. With this
information as a reference you will now be able to hotrod your own guitar or even
use these ideas to make a custom wiring layout for yourself with little or no wiring
experience. Use my examples as inspiration to create something special.
I highly recommend checking out the Guitar Insight link below to further your understanding of playing the guitar that also contains various free lessons, and my Crash Course in Music Theory. I also continually update information there, as well as provide my main feed of guitar posts via Facebook. I will also connect you to unusual things that you didn’t know that you may need to benefit your guitar prowess, such as the exercisers shown to the left. I have used these items myself to battle dehabilitating wrist problems, and weakness. I suffer from some kind of wrist instability that has symptoms that resemble carpal tunnel. The DFX Powerball has played an important role in reversing the effects, and allowing me to play guitar with fewer limitations. I believe anyone can obtain an overall improvement in tackling difficult bar chords just by strengthening the muscles involved.
Some other information about guitar playing, set up, and wiring that you will find to be very useful, like I have, are pointed out in the store link, where you will find recommended books, tools, and parts. Click on the Tube on the lower left through pages to get back to the Home menu. Private Lessons now available, contact via Facebook for questions or guitar building consultation.
This web site’s primary goal is to be a compilation of many topics and diagrams that guitar builders and modifiers would find useful. These are many of the topics I have yet to see that go into as much detail, or to be contained in the same place for free. I hope to expand this site with more related information, and even music theory, which I may compile into an e-book, or post with the rest of this information. If you have found this information to be helpful in your tone quest I encourage you to donate any amount that you wish to keep this web site going. Keep on Playing and Growing.
